It was a tough weekend for The College of Wooster women's tennis team, as its three-match win streak came to an end with back-to-back 9-0 sweeps at the hands of non-conference foes Case Western Reserve University and Ohio Northern University.

Wooster, which slipped to .500 overall (5-5), hosted Case Western Reserve (7-5) late Friday afternoon inside the Central Tennis & Fitness Club and the Fighting Scots' best result came from Margaret Trainor, who pushed her opponent at No. 6 singles to a score of 6-4, 6-3.

Playing less than 24 hours later, Wooster took on Ohio Northern (12-5) at a neutral site in Columbus, Ohio, and the Scots faired better overall. At No. 2 doubles, Suzanne Hamby and Boo Flynn extended their match to an 8-5 decision, and in singles, both Ashley Stockwell and Flynn won five games before succumbing. Stockwell dropped a 6-2, 6-3 match at No. 1 and Flynn fell 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4.

Wooster, which was also supposed to play Capital University Saturday but had that match postponed, hopes to start a new winning streak on Tuesday afternoon when it hosts the University of Mount Union (5-4).
