The College of Wooster women's tennis team was victorious at No. 4 and 5 singles, and played some competitive matches at other spots in the lineup, but in the end, Wittenberg University delivered a 7-2 setback to the Fighting Scots Saturday in a North Coast Athletic Conference contest that took place at neutral Gambier, Ohio.

The Scots (7-9, 0-4 NCAC) were unable to log a win in the top-half of the singles lineup, but Lauren Grimanis and Suzanne Hamby won at No. 4 and No. 5, and Lauren Gillis played a solid match at No. 6 to highlight the day's results. Grimanis won a lengthy match 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 and Hamby's triumph came 6-4, 6-2, while Gillis was tripped up 6-2, 6-3.

Also noteworthy, the teams of Kelsey Jenkins/Ashley Stockwell and Gillis/Cory Smith were both competitive in doubles action, but eventually were bested by scores of 8-4 at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots, respectively.

Wooster has just two more matches remaining during the regular season, with Monday's trip to Denison University next in line. The match will begin at 4:30 p.m.
