In the first women's tennis match played inside The College of Wooster's recently opened, $30 million Scot Center, the Fighting Scots faced a challenge in NCAA Div. II opponent Ashland University and ultimately fell by a 9-0 count.
It marked the first match of the spring semester for Wooster (1-3).
Boo Flynn and Lauren Gilliss faired the best during doubles for the Scots, winning three games at the No. 3 position (8-3). Flynn also took three games in her singles match at No. 3 (6-2, 6-1), as did Rachel Dietz at No. 6 (6-0, 6-3).
Next, Wooster hosts Otterbein University (1-4) at the Scot Center on Feb. 22.
