The College of Wooster's women's tennis team took four of its six singles matches, including wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spot in the lineup, but John Carroll University swept the Scots in doubles action to eke out a narrow 5-4 victory on Saturday afternoon at the Paramount Tennis Club in Medina, Ohio.

Catherine Christian won decisively at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-1), while Rose Chiumento triumphed in a back-and-forth contest at No. 2 by scores of 7-5, 1-6, 7-5.

Wooster's other wins came deeper into the lineup, where Melanie Chin (7-6, 6-1) and Lauren Gilliss (6-3, 1-6, 6-4) took down their opponents at No. 4 and No. 6, respectively.

Next, the Scots will host Denison University on March 5 at 4:30 p.m.
