In its final match prior to this weekend's North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament, The College of Wooster dropped a 6-3 decision at Baldwin Wallace University in non-league action Monday afternoon.
Wooster (8-11) won at the top of the doubles lineup, as the team of Catherine Christian and Melanie Chin battled their way to an 8-5 victory, but Baldwin Wallace (9-9) won the other two matches to take a 2-1 advantage into singles.
The Fighting Scots won a pair of decisive matches, with Rachel Dietz and Lauren Gilliss prevailing at No. 4 (6-2, 6-2) and No. 6 (6-1, 6-2), respectively. However, a couple of closer singles matches went the Yellow Jackets way, including a three-setter with Chin at No. 3 (7-5, 4-6, 10-6).
The NCAC Tournament will be hosted by Oberlin College this weekend (April 26-28), with the draw set to be announced by the league office on Tuesday.
