Challenging Slate Continues for Wooster as No. 22 Case Western Reserve Tops Scots 9-0

 Rachel Molé

The College of Wooster women's tennis team's rigorous schedule continued on Sunday evening as the Fighting Scots dropped a 9-0 match against No. 22 Case Western Reserve University at the Cleveland Skating Club in Shaker Hts., Ohio.

Wooster (3-12), in the midst of a stretch of matches that features three nationally-ranked opponents in a span of four contests, had a strong outing from junior Rachel Molé. The Scots' junior was right there with regionally-ranked Jessica Liu in the first set, but the set ultimately swung in the favor of the Spartans (11-3) in the tiebreaker 7-6 (7-4). Molé dropped the second set 6-3.

Sophomore Morgan Wagers kept things close early in the first set before falling by a 6-3, 6-1 tally out of the second flight.

Elizabeth Brewington picked up three wins at the fourth position during her 6-2, 6-1 match.

Next, Wooster returns home to take on 38th-ranked Oberlin College (9-7) on Wednesday. The match marks the North Coast Athletic Conference East Division opener for both programs.
