Women’s Tennis Falls to Denison in Two Matches

GRANVILLE, Ohio – The College of Wooster women's tennis team fell 9-0 in two matches against Denison University on Saturday.

In match one, both the No. 1 doubles team of Otilia Oita and Sarah Duran and the No. 2 team of Laura Haley and Abby Kushner Benson lost 8-2. At No. 3, Abby Aitken and Kimberly Nguyen lost 8-1.

In singles play, Oita lost at the No. 1 flight 6-2, 6-1. Duran took a 6-2, 6-0 loss at No. 2.

Nguyen fell 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3, Haley fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4, Kushner Benson lost 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 and Kendra Devereux fell 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.

In match two, Emma Saxton and Anesu Munyanyi together in the No. 3 doubles spot fell 8-3, but captured the most games for a Wooster doubles pair for the day. 

In singles play the women once again fell in straight sets. Haley was the only Scot to win more than one game in a set, falling at the No. 3 flight 6-2, 6-1.

Wooster (0-6) will look to get on track next Saturday when they host for the first time this spring against Allegheny College.
