The College of Wooster women's tennis team took a 6-3 defeat at Otterbein University on Saturday.
In doubles play, the No. 3 team of Abby Aitken and Katie Materick captured the lone doubles win for the Scots with an 8-6 victory.
The No. 2 team of Ishika Gupta and Janaki Jagannathan were on the wrong side of an 8-6 score. Then the No. 1 team of Otilia Oita and Kim Nguyen fell 8-1.
In singles action, Wooster took wins in the No. 3 and No. 4 flights. Jagannathan won in the No. 3 slot 6-1, 7-5, while Nguyen needed three sets to win in the No. 4 flight 6-2, 1-6, 6-1.
Aitken also had a three-set match in the No. 5 flight but fell 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.
Oita lost in straight sets 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1. Gupta fell in similar fashion at the No. 2 flight 6-3, 6-2.
Elsewhere, Becky LaRue fell 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 6 slot.
The Scots will compete at home for the only time this fall next time out. They host Baldwin Wallace University next Saturday.
