8-0 Week Propels Jagannathan to NCAC Award

Janaki Jagannathan, Wooster Tennis The College of Wooster's Janaki Jagannathan has been on quite a roll of late, and the North Coast Athletic Conference took note by selecting the Fighting Scots' first-year as its Athlete of the Week for women's tennis on Monday afternoon.

Jagannathan went 4-0 at third singles and 4-0 at doubles, including 3-0 in the first flight, during a 4-0 week for the Scots in South Carolina. Jagannathan dropped just one set during the 4-0 week. She now has a seven-match winning streak in singles and a five-match one in doubles.

The first-year has played a key role in Wooster's current five-match winning streak, during which the team has dropped just six points. Last week, Jagannathan helped the Scots to wins over Concordia University Wisconsin (7-2), Letourneau University (9-0), Stockton University (8-1), and Hollins University (9-0).

Wooster (8-5) was in action against 33rd-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (13-2) this afternoon.
