Scots Close Regular Season with 11th Win of Year

Oita The College of Wooster women's tennis team moved to 11-8 as they won their final regular season match on Saturday – an 8-1 victory over Ohio Wesleyan University.

Sophomore Otilia Oita was a part of the two of closest matches on the day. At No. 1 doubles, her and Janaki Jagannathan squeaked by for an 8-7 (6) win. Later, Oita won at the No. 1 singles spot 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (7).

Wooster went up early after doubles play as the No. 2 team of Katie Materick and Abby Kushner Benson won 8-2, and the No. 3 team of Abby Aitken and Cherry Patlolla won 8-4.

Patlolla later took a 6-3, 6-2 win at the No. 2 singles flight. Jagannathan won 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 3 flight.

At No. 4 singles, Materick won 6-4, 6-3. At No. 6, Anesu Munyanyi was slotted into singles play for the first time this year and won 6-1, 6-0.

Aitken took a 6-0, 6-4 loss at the No. 5 flight.

Wooster, ranked 18th regionally, will await for pairings in the upcoming North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament starting on April 29.
