Oita and Jagannathan Named All-NCAC

Junior Otilia Oita and sophomore Janaki Jagannathan were recognized by the conference office on Friday, earning All-North Coast Athletic Conference second team singles and third team doubles honors.

This is the second straight year both have earned a spot on the second team singles squad. Last year they shared a spot on first team doubles.

After an honorable mention in singles play in year one, Oita has now earned All-NCAC honors in three consecutive years. She joins five others at Wooster to have accomplished All-NCAC honors three times, the last being Qingyue Li (2017-19).

Oita finished 7-13 in singles action, playing primarily out of the No. 1 flight, where she recorded a 6-10 record. Oita went 11-17 in doubles action. She and Jagannathan went 8-9 together in the No. 1 flight, while Oita also captured a win with Katie Materick in a No. 1 match.

Oita and Jagannathan are also the first duo to earn consecutive All-NCAC honors in doubles play.

Jagannathan, last year's NCAC Newcomer of the Year, went 10-10 in singles play with a 9-6 record in the No. 2 flight. Jagannathan went 10-18 overall in doubles action.

The Scots went 12-7 this year, advancing to the NCAC Tournament semifinals for the first time since 1999.
