The College of Wooster women's tennis team claimed another Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team award, while seven individuals were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Jagannathan, Materick, and Nguyen were all named Academic All-District® by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) back in May. The three along with Aitken were also on the 2022-23 North Coast Athletic Conference Honor Roll.

Materick becomes a four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete. She went 9-7 in singles competition this year with a 5-1 mark in the No. 5 flight and also had a team-best 12 wins in doubles play.

The junior Nguyen, now a three-time winner of the award, led the Scots with 11 singles wins with a 4-0 slate at the No. 3 flight. She added five wins in doubles play, including going 2-0 with Charitha Patlolla.

Jagannathan, a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, earned All-NCAC honors, finishing with 10 wins in both singles and doubles play. She was 9-6 in the No. 2 singles flight and 8-9 when pairing with Otilia Oita in the No. 1 doubles slot.

Aitken went 6-6 between matches in the No. 5 and No. 6 flights, including a win in the No. 6 flight against eventual OAC champ Otterbein University.

Williams had the biggest impact among the first-years, going 7-9 in singles play with a 5-0 mark in the No. 4 flight. She logged 10 wins in doubles play as well.

The first-year Mashaal saw limited action but did pick up a win in doubles play in the Kenyon Invitational, pairing with Aitken for an 8-5 win. Fellow first year Steward saw limited playing time as well and picked up a win in singles and doubles play for a combined 2-4 record.

Wooster has earned 41 ITA Scholar-Athlete awards in the past five years. Teams must have a GPA of at least 3.2 for the current academic year. Over 1,200 NCAA Div. III student-athletes were honored as were 160 teams.
