The College of Wooster women's tennis team is two matches into its four-match spring break trip and so far has accumulated a 1-1 record.
The Scots opened with a 6-1 win over Agnes Scott College but fell in their latest in a 5-2 result versus Coe College.
Against Agnes Scott, Wooster opened by sweeping doubles play.
Senior Janaki Jagannathan and first-year Elyse Errington opened with a clean 6-0 win at the No. 1 flight. The No. 2 team of Kamila Kadirova and Jade Adkins as well as the No. 3 team of Willow Hernishin and Mia Smith each won 6-2.
In singles play, Jagannathan stayed perfect with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1. Errington took a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2, while Adkins won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3.
Kadirova then won at No. 4, 6-2, 6-1, and Hernishin won 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 5 flight. Smith battled at the No. 6 flight, ultimately falling after a 10-point tiebreaker, 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (7).
In Wednesday's match against Coe, singles flights were played first. Coe won the first five flights to give them the needed points to take the match.
Wooster benefited from Coe not filling in players in the No. 6 flight as well as the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches, winning those by default.
Jagannathan and Errington did pick up a 6-2 win in the No. 1 doubles flight.
Jagannathan continues her rise atop the program rankings. She is now at 55 total singles wins, 43 doubles wins and 98 total wins.
The total wins is now tied for second most in program history.
Wooster (3-5) has two matches remaining on its spring break trip and will next play Ripon College on Thursday.
