OBERLIN – The College of Wooster women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to Oberlin College in North Coast Athletic Conference action on Wednesday.
Wooster moves to 5-8 overall and 1-2 in NCAC play, while Oberlin improves to 7-6 and stayed undefeated in conference play at 3-0.
Wooster took just two games to start doubles play as the No. 2 team of Jade Adkins and Kamila Kadirova, and the No. 1 team of Janaki Jagannathan and Elyse Errington each fell 6-1. The No. 3 team of Sarah Mashaal and Willow Hernishin fell 6-0.
Oberlin then won in straight sets across singles play as Jagannathan in the No. 1 singles flight put up the best fight in a 6-3, 6-3 loss.
Wooster could not claim a game across the first sets of the other singles matches.
At No. 2, Errington fell 6-0, 6-1, while Adkins fell 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3. Kadirova at No. 4 and Hernishin and No. 5 each suffered 6-0, 6-0 losses, while Mia Smith fell 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 6 flight.
Next, Wooster continues conference play hosting DePauw University on Sunday.
