Scot Spikers Tripped Up by Case Western Reserve

The College of Wooster volleyball team had their four-match winning streak halted by Case Western Reserve University, as the Spartans defeated the Fighting Scots by set scores of 25-19, 25-20, and 25-21 on Tuesday evening at Horsburgh Gymnasium in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Scots (9-2) lost for just the second time this season, while the Spartans improved to 10-4.

Paige Parker recorded a season-high 11 kills, and chipped in seven digs and a solo block to lead Wooster in the setback. Also noteworthy, Lizzi Beal totaled seven kills, eight digs, and 22 assists, Kelley Johnson had a game-high 29 digs, and Melissa Morgan added three solo blocks.

Case Western Reserve was led by Trisha McCutchan (16 kills) and Allie Palmer (8 kills), who both helped the Spartans to an impressive .308 hitting percentage.

Wooster will look to get back into the win column this weekend at this season's first NCAC Play Date at Gambier, Ohio.
