Paige Parker achieved another impressive milestone during a tri-match at Penn State Behrend in Erie, Pa. on Saturday, as she reached 1,000 career digs, but The College of Wooster volleyball team came up short against LaRoche College (3-2) and Behrend (3-1), despite pushing both opponents to the limit in competitive outings.

Parker totaled 14 digs in both matches, pushing her career total to 1,012 digs. Just a few weeks ago the senior outside hitter also surpassed 1,000 career kills, and now she joins Carrie Zuro (1993-96) and Erin Donnell (1999-2002) as the only three players in program history to be members of both the 1,000-kill and 1,000-dig clubs.

In their opening match, the Fighting Scots (7-18) led LaRoche (13-13) by an 8-2 margin in the first set, and 6-2 in the second set, but in both cases, the Redhawks chipped away at their deficit to come back and win each time. Wooster didn't let up in the third and fourth sets, though, as they took both rather easily, but LaRoche eked past the Scots in the fifth and final set to win the marathon match by scores of 25-20, 25-21, 12-25, 13-25, 15-12.

The second match could have gone either way as well, as two of the sets were determined by just two points. The turning point came in the third set, as Wooster led by eight, 20-12, but Behrend rallied all the way back to win 28-26. In the end, Behrend (17-7) was victorious, 25-20, 23-25, 28-26, 25-17.

Overall, Lydia Webster led the hitters with 21 kills on the day, while Parker (19), Erica Skillman (19), and Zoe Zwegat (17) were also heavily involved. Zwegat totaled 12 of her kills against LaRoche College, which is a season-high.

Kaitlin Banko paced the back row with 33 digs, while Parker's 28 and Sarah Roth's 22 were next in line. Also noteworthy, Brittany Nicholson recorded 46 assists and three service aces, and Zwegat piled up 12 block assists.

Next, Wooster will recognize its seniors Friday night at 7 p.m. during a home match with Ohio Wesleyan University (8-15, 0-6 NCAC).
