USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award Release

The College of Wooster's volleyball team was among the record 1,313 teams on the United States Marine Corps/American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award list, which was announced by the AVCA on Monday afternoon.

The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long GPA of at least 3.30. This is Wooster's 12th time earning the AVCA's Team Academic Award in the last 14 seasons. The Scots had a 3.43 GPA during the fall term, and upped that mark to 3.66 for the spring.

Individually, seven Wooster student-athletes were honored by the North Coast Athletic Conference earlier this summer on the conference's Academic Honor Roll. Those student-athletes were sophomore Katie Billetdeaux, juniors Meghan Botsch and Bradlee Hartman, seniors Kat Loftus, Anna Medema, and Cami Miller, and sophomore Brooke Swain. Six Scots posted perfect 4.0 GPAs during the spring semester.

Of note, all nine NCAC institutions appeared on this year's AVCA Team Academic Award list.
