NCAC Weekly Release - Nov. 10

The College of Wooster's Maley Tinstman was selected by the Fighting Scots' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) as this week's North Coast Athletic Conference Women's Student-Athlete of the Week, with the honorees being officially named by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Tinstman, a sophomore political science and urban studies major, appeared in 17 matches as a first-year for Wooster's volleyball team. The setter and defensive specialist recorded 70 digs, 64 assists, four aces, and two kills. She logged a double-double against Muskingum University with 14 assists and 11 digs and tallied 10 digs against Marietta College in 2019.

On campus, Tinstman serves as Wooster's SAAC secretary, is a student worker in the equipment room and game-day operations, and is a member of Alpha Gamma Phi. She's also a student researcher with a focus on studying other colleges' urban studies programs.

The NCAC Student-Athlete of the Week highlights two conference individuals each week, one male and one female, who excel in one or more of the following areas: academics, commitment, community service, leadership, and perseverance. Each institution's dates for fall honorees were selected at the start of the semester. Student-athletes are nominated by their respective schools and are from the current traditional playing season. Wooster's SAAC is overseeing the solicitation of nominations and selection process for the Scots' dates.
