Wooster's (0-5) best stretch came a few points into the second set, where the Scots strung together a 5-0 stretch to tie the frame at 10. Junior Katie Billetdeaux's kill started the run, which featured strong play up front from multiple Scots. After Billetdeaux's kill, senior Meghan Botsch and first-year Sydney Sherrieb denied Hiram's (1-0) Kayla Cole at the net, before an attack by junior Seven Townsel found Hiram's side of the floor for a kill. Later, Sherrieb and Townsel capped the run with a block, and that came on the heels of Billetdeaux's ace.

Wooster led in the second set at 15-13, thanks to Sherrieb's kill, while sophomore Emily Gail did likewise to stake the Scots to a 16-14 lead. Wooster's lead grew to 17-14 on a Hiram attack error, but the Terriers turned in a strong close to take the second set behind three Cole kills during the stretch.

Billetdeaux was the lone player on either side to hit 10 kills on the night, with six of those coming in the third set. Gail and first-year Caroline Dillard had seven kills apiece, with five of Dillard's coming in the second set. Botsch dished out 23 assists to bring her career haul to 1,993, the sixth-most in program history. Dillard's six digs marked the team-high and Botsch added five.

Cole, Kiara Franks, and Jaya Martin had eight kills apiece for Hiram, and libero Mackenzie Brannon's 14 digs were the match-high.

Hiram hit .356 for the match compared to Wooster's .185 attack percentage.
