Billetdeaux, Case, Nash Earn All-NCAC Honors

Katie Billetdeaux, Syd Case, Hayley Nash, Wooster Volleyball 2021 All-NCAC Volleyball Team

The College of Wooster was well represented on the All-North Coast Athletic Conference volleyball team with three selections, and for the fourth time in conference history, the Fighting Scots had two first-teamers. Syd Case and Hayley Nash earned the first-team honors, with their selections marking the first time Wooster's had a first-team duo since 2008. Katie Billetdeaux debuted on the all-conference squad as a second-team selection.

Case entered the weekend seventh in Div. III with 10.65 assists per set, and with the senior leading the offense, the Scots ranked 23rd nationally in kills per set (13.16) and 53rd nationally in hitting percentage (.214) through matches played November 3. Case's helping hands led to 10.89 assists per set during Wooster's 10-match winning streak, and the Scots hit .261 during that stretch. The senior, who earned conference accolades from the Sunshine State Conference and Summit League during her days at Eckerd College and University of Nebraska Omaha, had nine double-doubles entering this weekend's NCAC Tournament, and her 54 assists during Wooster's win over Washington & Jefferson College are the program's top mark in a four-set match during the current scoring era.

Nash, Wooster's first repeat first-team all-conference selection since All-American KateLynn Riley in 2008 and 2009, entered the conference tourney tops in the NCAC in kills per set (3.99) and kills (371), marks that ranked 26th and 29th, respectively, through Div. III matches played on November 3. The junior joined Riley as the lone players in program history to have two 300-kill seasons in the current scoring era, and entering the NCAC Tournament, Nash has the program's fourth-highest single-season haul during the current scoring era. Nash had six 20-kill matches on her season docket entering the NCAC Tournament, including a career-high 27 during Wooster's five-set win over Bluffton University that capped the program's first 10-match winning streak since 1984. Nash's 13 double-doubles entering the NCAC Tournament are tops on the team.

Entering the NCAC Tournament, Billetdeaux ranks third in the NCAC in hitting percentage (.349) and fifth in kills per set (3.16). She needs six kills at the NCAC Tournament to give the Scots two players with 300 kills in a season for the first time since 2012. Billetdeaux logged a career-high 18 kills against Adrian College, with that setting off a 14-match run with at least 10 kills. Billetdeaux has hit double-digit kills 19 times this year. She has at least four blocks in eight matches and is coming off a season-best six during Wooster's win at Case Western Reserve University.

Wooster last had three all-conference picks in 2013.
