Mitchell, Turner Voted All-NCAC
Seniors third-team honorees
Seniors Amelia Mitchell and Tamara Turner were voted third-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
Through matches November 14, Mitchell ranked fourth in the NCAC with 2.74 kills per set and was tops within the conference at 0.41 aces per set. Mitchell's 310 kills rate as the eighth-most in the current scoring era and are the top total since alumna Hayley Nash's 432 in 2021. Mitchell finished the year two aces shy of matching the program's scoring-era record. The senior tallied 16 double-digit kill totals, capping a standout career with five straight. Mitchell delivered a career-high 20 kills in a win over Alma College and matched that total in a five-set victory against Ohio Christian University. Mitchell had a career-high five aces against Wilmington College. Elsewhere, Mitchell was second in the league with 0.89 blocks per set and was one of just two players league-wide with over 100 blocks in 2024. Mitchell tallied eight blocks against NCAC champion Denison University.
Turner, a six-rotation star for Wooster, ranked second on the team in digs (2.61) and kills (2.20) per set. The senior added 23 aces and 46 blocks to the 2024 stat line. Turner logged a career-high 23 kills in her final collegiate home match against Wilmington. Turner finished the senior season with seven double-doubles, headlined by a 14-kill, 14-dig outing in a senior day win over Kenyon College. Turner had 15 matches with double-digit digs, led by a 19 against Kent State University Tuscarawas and Wittenberg University. Prior to the Wilmington match, Turner had a high of 15 kills against Oberlin College.
