Q: Why did you choose to attend The College of Wooster?
A: I liked the campus and the community. It was also close to my relatives.
Q: What does being a Fighting Scot student-athlete mean to you?
A: Being a Fighting Scot student-athlete means a lot to me because it is like a second family that I can depend on.
Q: What are some of your favorite memories as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: As a first-year, the volleyball team made the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament and beat Denison University to make it to the championship match.
Q: What is the best part about being a student-athlete at The College of Wooster?
A: Being a student-athlete at Wooster created a lot of opportunities for me and has given me unforgettable experiences.
Q: What else were you involved with on campus besides your sport?
A: I am a student technology assistant for the Educational Technology department on campus. I am also a teaching assistant for introduction to sculpture and a studio technician for advanced ceramics.
Q: Which College of Wooster faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?
A: When I declared my major as computer science, Dr. Sofia Visa was assigned as my advisor. She has been super supportive and has helped guide me in making both academic and career decisions. Whenever I see her around, she has a big smile on her face, which always brightens my day.
Q: What other people or resources impacted your Wooster experience in a positive way and how did these people and resources set you up to be successful at Wooster?
A: I depended heavily on the Writing Center when writing my Junior Independent Study. Believe it or not, I do not have the best writing skills as a computer science major. The Writing Center helped me through the whole process and made it possible for me to express my ideas on paper.
Q: Tell us a bit about your Independent Study project?
A: I am researching how video game controllers impact user experience and accessibility. I am doing this by creating a simple video game scene and having users test out different controllers in the environment.
Q: Tell us a bit about something cool you did as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: I went on a TREK trip to Buenos Aires, Argentia in the summer of 2022. It was an amazing experience and I was able to create a documentary with three other Wooster students. Separately, one of my favorite memories was getting to go shark cage diving in South Africa with my volleyball teammates.
Q: Reflecting back on your time at Wooster, what advice would you give your first-year self?
A: If there is even a small chance that you might like a subject and the introduction classes are only offered in the fall, take those introduction classes before filling in the liberal arts requirements. Specifically, for me, give physics a chance earlier on.
