Meredith Shaul

Junior Meredith Shaul has gotten off to a strong start this fall, highlighted by her 10th-place finish over the weekend at the Otterbein Invitational, which paced The College of Wooster women's cross country team and garnered her the North Coast Athletic Conference Women's Runner of the Week award.

Shaul has now logged Wooster's quickest runs in back-to-back weeks, this time placing 10th among a large field that included runners from 18 schools. Her time of 19:16.00 on the 5k course was just a second behind the eighth-place finisher, and was 22 seconds better than her efforts at the team's last meet. With Shaul leading the way, the Scots finished 5th (144 points) at the event, well ahead of rival Wittenberg University (408).

One of the season's most important events, the All-Ohio Championships, will be held Friday at Cedarville, Ohio.
