The College of Wooster men's and women's cross country teams hosted a trio of NCAA Div. II schools on Friday evening at L.C. Boles Memorial Golf Course. While both Wooster squads finished in fourth-place in their fields, the experience should prove valuable next Saturday when they'll be in Crawfordsville, Ind., for the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships.

Three of the Fighting Scots' women's harriers were among the top-25 of the 58 competitors, with junior Meredith Shaul continuing her breakout season via a 12th-place run as she covered the 5K in 19:22. Sophomore Erin Plews-Ogan crossed 16th overall (19:39) and junior Sarah Appleton finished 24th (20:05).

Also scoring team points for Wooster were senior Alyssa Getta in 29th (20:24) and freshman Chelsea Denlinger in 32nd (20:33).

In the men's five-mile race, sophomore Kevin DeGroot paced the Scots while running with the top-half of the field as he took 21st with a time of 27:20. Shortly thereafter, junior Micah Caunter reached the line in 26th-place (27:53), while freshmen Luke Hutchings-Goetz, John Marshall, and Morgan Clark were 29th (28:24), 32nd (28:53), and 34th (29:05), respectively.
