Cross Country Teams Place Second at Otterbein

MEN'S TEAM RESULTS

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The College of Wooster cross country teams competed in the Otterbein Invitational this weekend, and both raced to a second place finish.

The women finished the 6k with 51 points, which was good enough to place second of the four teams competing. Otterbein University (27) finished first and Hanover College (84) finished behind in third.

Freshman Isabelle Hoover led the Scots with a fifth place individual finish and a time of 24:14.7. Senior Emani Kelley and freshman Kayla Bertholf finished eighth and ninth respectively with times of 24:35 and 24:46.5.

Freshman Amirah Yessoufou finished 14th with a time of 25:35.6, and junior Audrey Cordova rounded out the top five in 19th with a time of 26:08.8.

Other notable times included sophomore Emma Busch who fell right behind in 20th (26:11.7). Zoe Covey and Collier Summay finished 27th (26:43.1) and 28th (27:05.5), respectively.

On the men's side, five teams scored in the 8k, and Otterbein again came on top with a score of 20. Wooster's top five runners scored 47.

Seniors David Westcott and Jackson Feinknopf led the way with fourth and fifth place finishes. Westcott ran a 26:36.3, and Feinknopf ran a time of 26:47.3.

Senior Brian Lief finished just outside the top 10 in 11th with a time of 27:35.1. Simon Weyer finished 16th in 28:06.7, and sophomore Matt Klonowski rounded out scoring with a 21st place finish and a time of 28:43.4.

Making the Scot top seven were Aedan Pettit (29:45.7) and Alexander DeLong (29:49.6) with 35th and 36th place finishes.

Hyuga Uchida was not far behind in 38th (30:07.7).

Next, the teams will compete in dual meet at Denison University on Thursday.
