Ben Lolli

Ben Lolli is in year two as Wooster's defensive coordinator and he also serves as the team's defensive backs coach.

During his first year at Wooster, defensive back Matt Ulishney was voted a first-team College Sports Communicators Academic All-American® and two starters were voted to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference team.

Lolli arrived in Wooster in March 2022 following an impressive six-year stint at Div. III Case Western Reserve University. There, Lolli was the special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach for a program that went 43-10, won two Presidents’ Athletic Conference titles, and made two NCAA Div. III Championships appearances. Additionally, Lolli held recruiting responsibilities for 10 states, plus parts of Ohio, assisted with academic advising for team members, and was a strength and conditioning coordinator within the athletics department.

No stranger to the NCAC, Lolli spent the 2015 season at Oberlin College. As linebackers and defensive line coach, Lolli gained experience with the front six of the 4-2-5 system, which is Wooster’s primary defensive scheme. Lolli did a first stint at CWRU prior to moving on to Oberlin. During the 2013-14 seasons, he worked with CWRU’s wide receivers. The three-year letterwinner at Stow-Munroe Falls High School was a student assistant for four years at Div. I Kent State University, a graduate assistant for two years at Div. II Walsh University, and a defensive assistant at Walsh for a year prior to joining the Div. III ranks.

Lolli’s undergraduate degree is in history and his graduate degree is in education.
