Two-sport standout and veteran leader who gives the Scots a solid 1-2 combination at long-stick midfielder.
2015 Football: One of the team’s top receivers, finishing second on the team with 455 yards receiving and five touchdown catches … Caught 28 passes, primarily lining up as a tight end … Had a career day at Hiram (Nov. 14), tallying nine receptions for 164 yards, including a 39-yard touchdown … Two-touchdown game against Oberlin (Oct. 17), with scores covering 21 and 57 yards as part of a 3-catch, 84-yard evening … Added 93 yards receiving on five catches in come-from-behind win at Kenyon (Oct. 31).
2015 Lacrosse: Helped Scots to 7-2 start as top long-stick midfielder before suffering a season-ending injury … Finished with 13 groundballs, 12 caused turnovers, three goals, and one assist during nine games.
2014 Football: Initially saw time as a linebacker and on special teams’ coverage units, then made mid-season switch to tight end, where he excelled as one of six Scots with double-digit receptions … Had 14 catches for 118 yards overall … Best outputs included four receptions for 27 yards against then-No. 15 Wittenberg (Oct. 18) and five receptions for 33 yards at Ohio Wesleyan (Nov. 15) … Also led the special teams unit with 12 tackles, including a team-high eight on kickoff coverage … Had 20 tackles overall.
2014 Lacrosse: Joined the lacrosse program and made an impact with 11 games played (one start) as a defender/long-stick midfielder … Registered five caused turnovers and five groundballs … Two groundballs came at Trine (March 19).
2013 Football: Found a role in the defensive backfield, primarily serving as the second-string safety, and also played on special teams … Contributed a tackle in seven different games and totaled 11, including season-high four against Oberlin (Sept. 21) … Also had two pass breakups that game.
2012 Football: Did not play as a freshman quarterback.
Prior to Wooster: Picked up all-conference honors in football as a senior after helping lead South Brunswick High School to school-record 10 wins (10-1) and state semifinal appearance … Collected eight letters – two in football, three in ice hockey, and three in lacrosse.
Personal: Born on Feb. 4, 1994 … Son of Gary and Karen Gorzynski … Majoring in history with a minor in education.
