Annie Dehnke

Annie Dehnke made the transition from high school to the college ranks, joining The College of Wooster’s softball staff as full-time assistant coach, effective August 29, 2022.

Dehnke's first year saw first-year Julia Jennings win the inaugural National Fastpitch Coaches Association/Rawlings Gold Glove Award for NCAA Div. III third basemen, while the Fighting Scots' star broke the single-season program record with a .450 average (59-for-131).

Dehnke arrived in Wooster following three seasons as an assistant high school coach at Canton McKinley High School. There, Dehnke planned and executed catching and hitting drills while also assisting with infield and outfield instruction. Additionally, Dehnke assisted with offseason workouts, helped plan youth clinics, and worked closely with the local parks and recreation program to further develop youth programming.

Dehnke has additional coaching experience as a camp instructor at Walsh University.

A regular on conference academic honor rolls, Dehnke played four years of softball at Walsh. There, Dehnke played in 72 career games and logged 27 hits, nine of which went for extra bases. Prior to college, Dehnke was an All-Ohio performer at Jackson High School in Massillon.

Dehnke, who has a degree in early childhood education, was a teacher within Louisville City Schools while coaching at Canton McKinley.
