Track & Field Competes in Coastal Carolina Invite

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The College of Wooster track and field team took a number of members to Myrtle Beach to compete in the Coastal Carolina Invitational.

Sophomore William McMichael led the way in the non-scoring event. He 

finished second in the 400 at 49.90, behind the first place time of 49.63. He also placed fifth in the 200 meters (22.76), while Drake Pence finished seventh (23.16).

McMichael also anchored the 4x400 team to second place (3:29.95) along with Joe ShiltsMatt Klonowski and Aedan Pettit.

Sophomore Kristian Coleman placed second in the triple jump (43'5").

Pence was eighth in the 100 meters (11.34 seconds), while Coleman was 12th (11.68). Pence was also eighth in the shot put (34'11"), and Robinson was ninth (33'7.25").

Robinson also placed eighth in the discus (112 feet) and 10th in the hammer throw (104'1").

First-year Luke Henke placed fourth in the high jump (6 feet, .75 inches), while classmate Nate Andrews placed seventh (5 feet, 10.75 inches).

Senior Miki Rae was third in the 10,000 meters (33:59.01). Pettit was eighth in the 800 (2:01.89), while Klonowski followed in ninth (2:04.92).

Shilts placed sixth in the 110 hurdles (16.77 seconds).

First-year Brennen Testa placed fifth in the 400 meters (1:04.34). Junior Noah Crane was sixth in the 5,000 (17:43.76).

The women were aided by a trio of sophomores.

Kayla Bertholf placed second in the 5,000 (18:21.83).

Marian Overfield was third in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (12:36.82), and Claudia Partridge went for 4 feet, 11 inches for seventh in the high jump.
