Scots Compete in Kenyon Tune Up Meet

On the eve of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships with the heptathlon and pentathlon events taking place this weekend, The College of Wooster track and field teams took a trip to Kenyon College for its tune up meet on Friday.

Senior Drew Patterson ended a dual winner. She led the field in the 60-dash clocking in at a season-best time of 8.24 seconds and led the field in the high jump at five feet, three inches.

Senior Ainsley Wiesner had little problem claiming first in the weight throw with a throw of 56 feet, 11.5 inches. It was her best throw yet, only furthering her school record.

Sophomore Evie Sanford found herself in a similar position in the shot put, winning with a throw of 38 feet, 6.75 inches.

Junior Igna Mendez topped three other Wooster runners in the 1 mile with a time of 5:47.30.

Senior Mary Sirois finished ahead of Clare Mackin in the 60 hurdles, running a time of 9.67 seconds to Mackin's 9.77 time.

First-year Zanna Anderson was second in the 800 meters (2:36.33).

Ellie Fox jumped 14-feet, 10 inches in the long jump for second and later ran 29.13 seconds in the 200 for third.

Sophomore Sarah Hiestand was third in the pole vault (9 feet, 5.75 inches), and junior Emily Munson ran a 1:09.19 in the 400 for fourth.

On the men's side, first-year Will Harris II was a double winner himself, winning the 60-dash in a time of 7.17 seconds and later wining the 200 in 23.61 seconds.

Junior Drew Robertson led the field in the 3,000 meters, winning in a time of 9:04.26. Eric Johnson followed behind in 9:20.16.

Senior Dylan Garretson handedly took the pole vault with a height of 15 feet.

Three Scots reached five feet, 11.5 inches in the high jump but Robbie Kugler did it in the least attempts. Luke Henke and Echo Kidd were the other two to reach the height.

The 4x400 team won uncontested with a team of Joe ShiltsCam RayCam Sentieri and Jake George in a time of 3:45.22.

In the 60 hurdles, sophomore Lorenzo Freeman (8.91 seconds) finished first in the 60 hurdles. Shilts finished behind in 9.42 seconds.

Junior Liam Regan led a team of Scots in the 400, finishing second overall with a time of 54.21 seconds.

Ray was third in the 800 (2:09.05). Rob Mays III was third in the weight throw with a season best throw of 41 feet, 5 inches.

Sophomore Henry Schneiderman was Wooster's top runner in the mile. He placed fourth with a time of 5:03.31.

The Scots have two taking part in this weekend's heptathlon and pentathlon for the NCAC Championships in juniors Vell Robinson and Daysia Hargrave. They get started at 12:30 pm Saturday at Kenyon.
