Five Compete at Last Chance Meet

ALLIANCE – With the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships looming, five Scots from The College of Wooster track and field teams took part in the University of Mount Union Last Chance Meet on Thursday 

Senior Ainsley Wiesner topped the field in the hammer throw, throwing for 171 feet, two inches. However, it did not best her top throw this year of 176 feet, two inches which is ranked 14th nationally at the time of this story.

In the 400 hurdles, junior Daysia Hargrave finished second in a three-person field with a time of 1:05.24. It was short of her best time of 1:03.45, which is 30th nationally.

Lastly on the women's side, senior Drew Patterson reached five feet, .5 inches in the high jump for seventh.

For the men, senior Dylan Garretson reached 15 feet, nine inches in the pole vault for fourth on Thursday. He did not reach his high mark of 16 feet, four inches which has him ninth nationally.

Junior Drew Robertson ran a new personal best 3:57.08 in the 1500-meter run. That time moves him up one spot to fifth in the program record books.

Next, selections will be announced Friday for those competing in the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 23-25 at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
