Women Compete in Denison Invite
Men rained out as Kretchmar leads women's team
GRANVILLE – The College of Wooster women's cross country team was able to avoid the weather and get in their 6K at the Denison Invitational on Friday.
The men, however, were not as lucky with their meet being called midway through the race.
The women competed against conference foes Denison University and Ohio Wesleyan University.
Wooster's best time came thanks to senior Dylan Kretchmar who finished seventh in the field at 24:16.78.
Ohio Weselyan's Zoe Ward led all runners with a time of 23:22.59. The Bishops held the top four spots while Denison claimed the next two.
Wooster's next two finishes came in at 12th and 13th, respectively, as Reeve Helvoigt ran a time of 25:14.16 and Elise Greenwald ran 25:39.09.
Eilidh Horn ran a time of 25:52.31 for 15th, and Isabelle Dwyer rounded out the top five in 19th at 26:11.93.
Elsewhere, finishing within the top 30 was Zanna Anderson (21st), Jessie Breth (22nd), Julie Fiori (24th) and Eva Bauman (28th).
The Scots will next be in action Sept. 20 when they travel to Cedarville for the All-Ohio Championships.
