Men, Women Place 10th Among Large Pool at Otterbein Invitational

The College of Wooster men's and women's cross country teams both clocked in 10th-place finishes while competing among the 17-team pool that spanned NCAA Div. III and II varsity programs as well as Div. I running clubs at the Otterbein Invitational in Westerville, Ohio on Saturday afternoon.

Leading the pace for the Fighting Scots in the women's 6K race was Kayla Zboran, as the senior posted a time of 25:11.0 to place 38th overall out of 219 participants.

Finishing just behind Zboran was sophomore Collier Summay, who took 40th place with a time of 25:12.4, the ninth-fastest time posted by a sophomore at Saturday's invite. After Zboran and Summay were Emani Kelley, Mackenzie Kellar, and Cobi Warstler, taking 49th (25:42.6), 62nd (26:05.5), and 67th (26:15.9), respectively.

In the men's 8K race, Blake Pecoraro led the Scots with a time of 28:09.2 to place 31st among the 215 competitors. Senior Herbert Sizek followed up Pecoraro, posting a 28:53.1 to finish in 50th place.

The Scots remaining point producers were all among the top-80, with Aedan Pettit crossing 67th (29.23.6), Brian Lief 74th (29:34.3), and Jason Solinsky 78th (29:37.3).
Wooster will be off from competition next weekend, as it prepares for the All-Ohio Championships on Sept. 30.
