GRANVILLE, Ohio – Sophomores Isabelle Hoover and Amirah Yessoufou were the top two finishers in the women's three-mile race, but host Denison University flipped the script from last year's dual meet to sweep The College of Wooster on Thursday evening at Infirmary Mound Park.

Wooster swept Denison during 2018's showdown at L.C. Boles Memorial Golf Course in what marked the first sweep in the then-three-year history of the dual meet. The Big Red's depth proved to be the decisive factor in Thursday's sweep, as Denison harriers finished third through eighth enabling the hosts to edge out the Scots 25-33 in the women's race. Denison's men cruised to a 19-42 victory.

Hoover, who also broke the tape in the 2018 dual meet, crossed at 20:23.3, while Yessoufou backed that up at 20:46.8. First-years Kate Larson and Abby Rice crossed ninth and 10th with times of 21:42.8 and 21:49.3, respectively, while sophomore Rachel Osterhouse posted the 11th-place time of 22:01.1.

Seniors Miki Rae and Aedan Pettit rounded out the top five finishers on the men's side at 17:23.3 and 17:30.3, respectively. Sophomore Alexander DeLong was the Scots' three-man on the day, and he was 12th overall at 18:29.3. Junior Jackson Todd (18:58.0) and sophomore Grant Sprague (19:04.3) both finished in the top 15 to round out Wooster's scoring harriers.

Next, Wooster's off to Westerville, Ohio to run in the Otterbein University Invitational on Saturday, September 14.
