WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Sophomores Isabelle Hoover, Kayla Bertholf, and Amirah Yessoufou all placed in the top-10 to lead The College of Wooster cross country team at Saturday's Otterbein University Invitational. Wooster's women were edged out by host Otterbein for the team title, while the Fighting Scots' men finished behind the Cardinals and Lawrence Technological University.

Her time was just over 12 seconds back of Otterbein's Sydney Smith's tape-breaking 23:00.2. Bertholf came in nearly a minute after Hoover at 24:12.0, which was good for seventh-place, while Yessoufou's 24:23.9 was the ninth-fastest time of the morning.

First-years Abby Rice and Kate Larson both raced to top-20 showings. Rice crossed 17th at 25:28.7, while Larson reached the finish at 25:30.8.

Sophomore Rachel Osterhouse was the other Scot in the top-25. She placed 21st at 25:59.5.

Senior Miki Rae's 12th-place time of 27:23.7 led the way for the men, while classmate Aedan Pettit claimed the final spot in the top-20 with a 28:29.9.

Junior Jackson Todd and sophomore Grant Sprague both broke 30 minutes on the championship-length 8,000 meters course. Todd was the 35th harrier to finish at 29:51.8, while Sprague came in right after at 29:53.0.
