Cross Country Teams Get Final Tune-Up Ahead of NCAC Championships

GAMBIER, Ohio -- With the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships around the corner, the men's and women's cross country teams had one final tune up Saturday against Kenyon College in a dual meet.

Kenyon wound up on top against the men and the women, defeating the men 21-40 and the women 20-38.

Sophomore Isabelle Hoover was the only Fighting Scot to land in the top five on the women's side as she finished with runner-up honors with a time of 22:57. Classmate Kayla Bertholf followed Hoover in the 6K at sixth with a time of 23:26.

Wooster then populated the final two spots of the top 10 as senior Audrey Cordova finished in 24:46.8, and sophomore Rachel Osterhouse finished in 25:11. First-year Abigail Rice rounded out the Scots' scoring in 11th at 25:12.

For the men, seniors Aedan Pettit and Miki Rae finished in the top five in third and fourth, respectively. Pettit ran under 27 minutes at 26:47, while Rae ran to a time of 27:05.

Junior Jackson Todd was next as he rounded out the top 10 with a time of 28:33. Also scoring for the Scots were junior Noah Crane (29:11) and first-year Naol Hulufe (29:18) who finished back-to-back in 12th and 13th, respectively.

The two teams will meet again Nov. 2 in Crawfordsville, Ind. for the NCAC Championships meet.
