2023 Outdoor: Qualified for the NCAA Div. III Championships (May 25-27) for the fourth time in career … Placed 16th at national meet with a height of 15 feet, 7 inches … USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region performer in pole vault … First Wooster male to win the same event at the NCAC Outdoor Championships three separate times, clearing 15 feet, 5 inches to win pole vault at 2023 NCAC Championships (May 5-6) … Broke school record in pole vault with a mark of 16 feet, 4.75 inches at Mount Union Last Chance Tune-Up (May 18) … All-Ohio Champion in the pole vault with a height of 16 feet, 2.75 inches at All-Ohio Championships (April 15) … Won event in four straight meets on the season … Overall, competed in seven meets.

2023 Indoor: Became Wooster’s first male indoor All-American … Earned All-America honors with fourth-place finish in pole vault (16 feet, 2.75 inches) at NCAA Div. III National Championships (March 10-11), upping his own school-record mark … Qualified to national meet for a third time in career … USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region performer in pole vault … NCAC pole vault champion with a height of 16 feet, 1.25 inches at the NCAC Championships (Feb. 24-25) … All-Ohio Champion in pole vault with a mark of 15 feet, 10 inches at All-Ohio Championships (Feb. 11) … Broke the pole vault school record six separate times during the season and won the event at all seven non-national championship meets … Named NCAC Athlete of the Week on Jan. 16 following win at season-opening Wooster Invitational (Jan. 14) … Repeated as NCAC Athlete of the Week on Feb. 6 after upping own school record and winning event at Bob Shannon Invitational (Feb. 4) … Overall, competed in eight meets.

2022 Outdoor: Earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors for the third time … Qualified for the NCAA Div. III Championships for the second time … Placed 16th at the NCAA Div. III Championships (May 28) at 15 feet, 3 inches … Earned fourth conference title with mark of 14 feet, 11.5 inches at NCAC Championships (May 5-6) … All-Ohio champion with mark of 15 feet, 7 inches at the All-Ohio Championships (April 16) … Broke program’s 23-year-old outdoor pole vault record at All-Ohio, then upped it to 15 feet, 10 inches at the Kenyon Spring Invitational (April 23) and 16 feet, 1.25 inches at the Mount Union Last Chance Qualifier (May 19) … Won the pole vault at all six non-national championship meets … NCAC Athlete of the Week following Kenyon Spring Invitational.

2022 Indoor: Qualified for the NCAA Div. III Championships for the first time … Placed 14th at the NCAA Div. III Championships, clearing 14 feet, 9 inches … USTFCCCA All-Region performer … Went 15 feet, 5 inches to win the NCAC pole vault title for the third time … Broke 33-year-old school record in dual meet with Denison (Jan. 27) by clearing 15 feet, 3 inches … Upped record to 15 feet, 8.25 inches at Bob Shannon Invitational (Feb. 5) … NCAC Athlete of the Week after breaking school record in dual with Denison … All-Ohio performer with third-place mark of 14 feet, 6.75 inches at All-Ohio Championships (Feb. 12) … Won the pole vault six times … Helped program to runner-up NCAC finish, the program’s highest since 1998.

2021 Outdoor: Earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors after ranking fifth in the Great Lakes Region in the pole vault … NCAC Champion after clearing 14 feet, 11 inches at the NCAC Championships (May 6) … Won the pole vault six times … Cleared a collegiate-best 15 feet at the Marv Frye Invitational (April 10) … NCAC Athlete of the Week on April 18 after clearing 14 feet, 5.25 inches at the Ohio Wesleyan Twilight Meet (April 15) … Matched season-best at Rocket Invitational (May 15), which was a final qualifier meet for the NCAA Div. III Championships.

2021 Indoor: Won the pole vault at both meets … Cleared 14 feet in college debut against Wittenberg (Feb. 26) and topped out at 14 feet in dual meet against Ohio Wesleyan (March 6).

Prior to Wooster: Two-time All-Ohio performer while prepping at Newcomerstown High School … OHSAA Div. III state runner-up in the pole vault as a sophomore after clearing 15 feet … Cleared 14 feet, 4 inches at the state championships as a junior, which was good for a third-place finish … Four-year letterwinner in cross country and track & field while prepping for father, Trevor Garretson, and Jamie Lewis.

Personal: Parents are Trevor and Beth ’97 Garretson … Music education major … Member of the Scot Marching Band, Symphonic Band, Mercury Brass Band, Jazz Band, and Concert Band … Serves in the Ohio National Guard as is part of the 122nd Ohio Army National Guard Band … Was on active duty in January 2022 providing hospital relief during COVID and broke the indoor pole vault record for the first time on the same day the hospital relief mission concluded.
